Mask or hide availability
Answer

Ava can automatically hide or mask availability that should not be allocated because of another booking at another time. This is done on the basis of shift type. Typically shifts might be of the types: Early, Long Day, Late, Twilight (evening) and Night.

 

Consider the case of a night shift. Booking a person to such a shift should automatically hide (or mask) availability for (in chronological order)
That day's Long Day, Late and Twilight shifts (the Early shift may optionally be masked).
The following day's Early, Long Day and Late but not Twilight or Night.

 

Consider the case of an Early shift. Booking a person to such a shift should automatically hide (or mask) availability for (in chronological order)
The preceding day's night shift.
That day's Long Day.

 

To set this up or adjust hiding overlapping or prohibited shifts:
On the menu for a record card (please note this setup applies to all shifts: not just those of the employee or other recodcard selected):
Select setup then types

Select employee/nurse/locum/ (dependant on how your employees are described)

Modify the shifts to be masked or hidden. The row gives the shift booked, allocated or worked and the column give the availability to be hidden. The screen shot immediatlely below shows a Night shift masking the early shift for the following day (day after the start of the night shift).
